The Launch of Little Scribbles' Stories

Little Scribbles is excited to launch our new storytelling website today; Little Scribbles' Stories. The site is host to lots of storytelling products, such as puppets, dolls and bookends as well as information on our local services. Little Scribbles has been an ambassador for Barefoot Books for around 18 months and will continue to bring wonderful Barefoot Books to the community. When out and about at various events with Barefoot, we are always asked if we have particular books on subjects such as autism, same sex marriage, divorce and breastfeeding so we thought we would get a little collection together and develop a site where parents and schools could browse such books. Rather than advertise as a specialist book store, we wanted to place the books alongside everyday storytelling products and simply bring all stories to life.

The puppets and dolls we have on the site are ideal for enhancing storytelling sessions and work well to  keep children engaged in stories. Puppets can be extremely useful tools for all children, especially those with language and communication difficulties. Here on the blog and over on the website, we plan to offer lots of storytelling hints and tips alongside lots of reviews and Q and A sessions social media.

All products are of high quality and are chosen with love. The site is in it's infancy and will develop into a sleeker toddler soon, with more products planned on a weekly basis. If you are in search of a book or product that is not on the site, drop us an email and we can look to source for you.

We hope you all enjoy browsing our new site and are pleased to offer a 20% discount on all products between now and Midnight Sunday. Just use LAUNCH01 when you checkout.

Barefoot Book of the Month: July

As regular readers know, I am an ambassador for Barefoot Books . Barefoot have lots of amazing books for children and I will be highlighting one as book of the month, that I think you and your little ones would love. This month I have chosen a book that is a perfect summer read for young bookworms, to keep them entertained during the holidays. ' Grim, Grunt and Grizzle-Tail ' is a new addition to the Barefoot 'Monster Stories' series. Set in Chile, this fun story is retold by Fran Parnell and illustrated by Sophie Fatus and is ideal for children ages 6 and up.

One day, a frustrated king flies into a rage and turns his mischievous daughters into oranges. The gruesome monsters Grim and Grunt decide they'd like to get their hands on the princesses, and bully their little brother, Grizzle-Tail, into stealing the girls. Who will rescue the princesses from the monsters' clutches?

To help bring the story alive, Barefoot have designed a fun craft activity for you to make and use alongside the book, take a look here
